Dimond, ACS survive close calls to advance to Lady Lynx title game

A 41-point scoring effort from senior center Alissa Pili gave Dimond the edge it needed Friday to get past Bartlett and into the championship game of its own tournament.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, the Lynx will face Anchorage Christian in the final game of the 16-team Lady Lynx Prep Shootout. ACS slipped past Chugiak 51-48 in Friday’s other semifinal.

It was the second night in a row that Dimond used a big performance by Pili to avoid defeat. On Thursday, she netted 38 points in a 56-49 win over Soldotna.

Amelia Uhila scored 22 points to lead Bartlett.

In ACS’s win over Chugiak, the Lions got 18 points from Destiny Reimers and 15 from Mary-Kate Parks.

Saturday’s title game will be a clash of defending state champions -- Dimond in Class 4A, ACS in Class 3A.
