ACS girls rout Dimond, claim Lady Lynx Prep Shootout championship

The two-time defending Class 3A state champion Anchorage Christian Lions defeated the defending Class 4A state champion Dimond Lynx in a showdown of champions Saturday at the Lady Lynx Prep Shootout girls basketball tournament.

The Lions put on a scoring clinic in their 71-59 win. Junior Destiny Reimers dropped in 21 points and sophomore Mykaila Pickard had 20. The Lions were dialed in from deep, sinking 10 3-pointers — five of which came from Pickard.

Dimond’s senior standout Alissa Pili, who averaged nearly 40 points in her two previous games, managed 23 against the Lions. Juniors Haley Rogers and Ariyanna Camacho-Villafuerte pitched in 11 points apiece for the Lynx.
