The Dimond Lynx will head to the Class 4A state volleyball tournament as champions of the Cook Inlet Conference.

The Lynx capped an undefeated run through the CIC tournament by knocking off top-seeded South in four sets Saturday night in the championship match at Service High.

Dimond, the four-time defending state champion, beat the Wolverines 25-22, 30-28, 19-25, 25-19.

It was the second meeting in two days between the juggernauts. In a Friday night winners bracket match, Dimond came from behind for a five-set win, 25-16, 20-25, 21-25, 25-14, 15-10

That was Bartlett’s second five-set match of the day. Earlier, the Golden Bears rallied past East 25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 25-20, 15-6 to clinch the conference’s third berth in the state tournament, which starts Thursday at the Alaska Airlines Center.
