The Service and Eagle River hockey teams won their regular-season finales Saturday night to clinch the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds in the Cook Inlet Conference tournament.

The tournament begins with two games Tuesday at Ben Boeke Ice Arena.

Third-seeded Service (6-5 regular season) will face No. 6 Chugiak (4-8) at 4:30 p.m.; fourth-seeded Eagle River (6-6) plays No. 5 West (4-7) at 6:30 p.m.

Waiting for the victors will be No. 1 Dimond and No. 2 South. Dimond will play the West-Eagle River winner on Thursday and South will meet the Service-Chugiak winner on Wednesday. The winners of those semifinals will play in Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. championship game; the losers will square off Friday at 6:30 p.m. for third place.

First-round pairings weren’t decided until Saturday night. Both evening’s games impacted the seedings -- Service beat defending state champion West 2-0, and Eagle River beat Chugiak 3-1.

Bartlett (0-11) isn’t in the tournament due to COVID-19 protocols. East did not field a team this season, although some of its players competed for other schools, including Bartlett.
