Golden Bears outlast Service Cougars to take 5-set volleyball win

The Bartlett Golden Bears needed all five sets to fend off the Service Cougars in a Cook Inlet Conference volleyball match Friday.

Sinalynn Roberts and Dora Roberts both posted double-digit kills and assists to lead Bartlett to a 25-14, 25-19, 22-25, 20-25, 15-11 victory. Sinalynn had 14 kills and 31 assists; Dora had 13 kills and 10 assists.

Also contributing were Ilikea Kahunanui (12 kills), Neyana Siania-Salanoa (8 kills) Kaylyn Fainuulelei (7 kills), and Trinity Fainuulelei (3 aces).

In Friday’s other match, Chugiak beat Eagle River in three sets 25-22, 25-20, 26-24 behind Aubre Adams’ 12 kills and three aces.

Rylee Edwards added eight kills, Lily Hulse had 25 assists and 15 digs, Ericka Rausch had 15 digs and Sa’ora Tonu had12 digs for the Mustangs.

On Tuesday, Bartlett and South each picked up sweeps.

Sinalynn Roberts handed out 28 assists and Dora Roberts slammed 14 kills as Bartlett swept East 25-22, 25-7, 25-14, and South outbattled Service 25-17, 25-16, 25-18.

Hanna Henrie ripped 21 kills for the Wolverines, who also got a boost from Taylor Dumlao (5 blocks, 2 kills), Tracy Rasavong (15 assists, 5 kills, 6 digs) and Grace Ruebling (5 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces).
