APU skiers score World Cup points in Sweden

Anchorage skiers Sadie Bjornsen, Rosie Brennan and Erik Bjornsen picked up World Cup points Saturday in Ulricehamn, Sweden.

Sadie Bjornsen grabbed 12th place and was one of four American women to finish in the top 30 of the 10-kilometer freestyle race.

Norway's Merit Bjorgen won in 23 minutes, 46.3 seconds. Bjornsen was a minute off the pace.

Brennan placed 24th and was 90 seconds behind Bjorgen. Kikkan Randall, who trains at Alaska Pacific University along with Brennan and the Bjornsens, finished out of the points in 40th place, two minutes behind the winner.

In the men's 15K freestyle, Erik Bjornsen finished 28th. He trailed Alex Harvey of Canada, the winner in 32:46.2, by 69 seconds.
