Randall 17th, Brennan 28th in World Championship skiathlon

Anchorage skiers Kikkan Randall and Rosie Brennan grabbed top-30 finishes in Saturday's skiathlon at the World Nordic Ski Championships in Lahti, Finland.

The race consisted of 7.5 kilometers of freestyle skiing followed by 7.5 kilometers of classic skiing.

Randall, who won a bronze medal in Thursday's sprint race, placed 17th to lead the U.S. Ski Team. Liz Stephen of Vermont was 19th and Brennan was 28th.

Taking the victory was Marit Bjorgen of Norway, who earned her 15th world-championship gold medal.
