Alaska alpine skiers snag 10 top-10 finishes in Utah

Alaska skiers took home a pair of victories and several top-10 finishes last week at the Tri-Divisional alpine championships in Snowbird, Utah.

Alyeska Ski Club U14 skiers Nolan Quigley and Georgia Lantz led the way with victories in super-G races in their age classes.

For the U16 girls, Randi Von Wichman took second and Kennedy Kane placed third in the giant slalom and Kane was fourth in the super-G. For the U16 boys, Colin Horrigan and Lexi Patten took eighth and ninth place, respectively, in the slalom. All ski for the Alyeska Ski Club.

In the U14 girls giant slalom, Lantz finished fourth and Ella Goldstein of Juneau Ski Club came in sixth. John Harris of the Alyeska Ski Club was eighth for the boys giant slalom.

Alaska athletes represented the smallest division at the three-day race series. Of the nearly 200 athletes from the Northern, Intermountain and Alaska divisions at the race, Alaska sent 23 racers.
