Hillberg ski club produces overall winners in giant slalom race

A pair of Hillberg Youth Ski Team members posted the fastest times Saturday in an Anchorage Youth Ski League giant slalom race at JBER's Hillberg Ski Area.

Max Carl, a U-14 boy, and Amanda Michener, a U-16 skier, took home the overall victories.

More than 150 racers from Hillberg, the Hilltop Arctic Race Team and the Alyeska Ski Club competed.

U14 Boys GS Novice — 1) Jonathan Glover, Hillberg, 68.44, 2) Jonah Palmer, Hillberg, 75.53, 3) Brendon Palmer, Hillberg, 85.44

U14 Boys GS Expert — 1) Max Carl, Hillberg, 51.29, 2) Clay Johnson, Hillberg, 53.75, 3) Christian Pont, Hilltop, 55.21

U14 Girls GS Novice — 1) Elise Schmidt, Hillberg, 82.94

U14 Girls GS Expert — 1) Isabella Pederson, Hillberg, 57.07, 2) Abbi Guse, Hillberg, 58.00, 3) Kelsey Reifel, Hillberg, 58.45

U16 Boys GS Expert — 1) Gabriel Funches, Hillberg, 64.59

U16 Girls GS Expert — 1) Amanda Michener, Hillberg, 53.37, 2) Kious Gray, Hilltop, 60.76, 3) Piper Spiro, Hilltop, 61.96

U16 Girls GS Novice — 1) Faith Glover, Hillberg, 70.46.
