Anchorage skier Scott Patterson turned in another strong international performance Saturday in a World Cup cross-country race in Oslo, Norway.
Patterson placed 16th in the men's 50-kilometer mass start freestyle race.
Italy's Dario Cologna won in 2 hours, 1 minute, 48.1 seconds. Patterson was less than a minute behind in 2:02:44.4.
The 50K is the race where Patterson delivered a statement at last month's Winter Olympics by skiing to 11th place, the best 50K finish by an American in Olympic history.
The second American in Saturday's race was another Anchorage skier, David Norris, who placed 38th — two spots ahead of Norway's Olympic hero, Johannes Klaebo.
