18 Seawolves honored by GNAC Faculty Athletic Representatives

Eighteen UAA student-athletes were recognized amongst a record 193 Great Northwest Athletic Conference with stellar academic achievement Thursday. 12 Seawolf women and six men received the GNAC Faculty Athletic Representative's Scholar-Athlete Award for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.85 or better.

A GNAC full-member school can nominate student-athletes even if they do not compete in a GNAC sponsored sport, including hockey, skiing and gymnastics.

Oliver Mantha, Curtis McKillop, Madeleine Arbuckle and Katerine Lamoureux received the award for the third time, while five Seawolves were repeat winners.

A faculty athletic representative (FAR) is a faculty member of a NCAA school who serves as a liaison between a school's faculty and athletic department.
