UAA freshman Felix Kemboi was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference athlete of the week for men's cross country on Monday.
Kemboi, of Eldoret, Kenya, won Saturday's Ash Creek Invitational in Monmouth, Oregon.
He's the second UAA runner honored by the conference so far this season — Caroline Kurgat was last week's winner among GNAC women.
The nationally ranked Seawolves don't have another race until Oct. 7, when they compete in the Division II Conference Cross-Over in Romeoville, Illinois.
