WCHA honors UAA defenseman Sinclair

UAA defenseman Eric Sinclair garnered a spot on the Western Collegiate Hockey Association all-rookie team, the league announced Thursday.

Sinclair, the only player to play in all 34 of UAA's games this season, finished with two goals and four assists for six points.

He paced WCHA rookie defensemen with 41 blocked shots and 40 shots on goal in league games.

Sinclair, a freshman from Kenora, Ontario, is the ninth UAA player to earn all-rookie honors and the first since Wyatt Ege in 2016.

Also earning post-season recognition from the WCHA were 16 Seawolves who made the league's all-academic team: seniors Matt Anholt, Austin Azurdia, Jarrett Brown, Tanner Johnson, Ted Kozun and Olivier Mantha; juniors Cam Amantea, Nicolas Erb-Ekholm, Alex Jackstadt, Jonah Renouf, Nathan Renouf and Nils Rygaard, and sophomores Tomi Hiekkavirta, Nolan Nicholas, Corey Renwick and David Trinkberger.

Freshmen aren't eligible for academic honors, which go to players with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
