UAA volleyball team set to begin 16-match season next week with the first of 14 road matches

After its first attempt to kick off a limited spring season was foiled by COVID-19, the UAA volleyball team is set to return to the court on Friday, March 19, with a match in Lacey, Washington.

The Seawolves on Wednesday announced a 16-game schedule that includes two home matches, March 26-27 against the Nanooks of UAF. No spectators will be allowed.

The Seawolves were slated to play two matches in Fairbanks last week but the series was postponed “due to a coronavirus protocol,” UAA said in a statement at the time.

UAA will play Saint Martin’s next Friday, the first of 14 road matches. It will be the Seawolves’ first match in more than 15 months after the 2020-21 regular season was canceled due to COVID-19.

Other matches include:

— March 20 doubleheader at Seattle Pacific;

— March 26-27 two-match series against UAF at the Seawolf Sports Complex;
