Alaska Scientific Crime Detection Lab, 4805 Dr. MLK Jr. Avenue, Anchorage

Learn about drug analysis, fingerprints, fire science, forensic anthropology, blood stain analysis, DNA collection, firearms and tool mark analysis, and processing a simulated crime scene. Camp is designed to increase student awareness of science by exposure to forensics. Hands-on experience with crime scene processing gives students direct contact with various elements of forensics. The camp's mission is to nurture and develop long term interest in science education and career. Camp includes field trips to Fish & Game Shooting Range, APD Training Center and Alaska State Trooper Aircraft Hangar.

Camp Internet Extreme

Entering its 25th electrifying year, Camp Internet Extreme offers students access to flat screen iMac computers, 3D printing capabilities, iPads and a wide variety of cutting edge multimedia equipment. Campers will have an opportunity to use these resources to produce virtual reality environments, design and manipulate digital video, create 3D images and animations, animate digital creatures, create studio quality music and look at coding peeking under the hood of popular video games.

Summer Sign Language Classes

Robotics

Build robotic machines or robots that spin, push, or respond to touch or sound. Program them with visual drag-and-drop programming software. Design robots to complete simple and challenging tasks like an alligator with snapping jaws or a rescue vehicle with sounds and lights. Use sensors to guide a robot through a maze. Projects will be adapted towards camper skill level and will use LEGO Education WeDo or LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 kits.

Camp HoWL!

Homer

This is a two-week campout in the Homer area based in Kachemak Bay State Park. We will be spending the nights in tents and in a ranger station, and exploring and learning about the beautiful Kachemak Bay. Delta Restoration Team (DRT) Camp

Calling all future Doctors, Surgeons and Veterinarians! Practice your lab skills like a real scientist or surgeon. Swirling Sculptures

Art and engineering combine to create crazy contraptions and magnificent mobiles. Using balance, energy and design, build large scale moving sculptures that twirl in the breeze or ball machines that seem to defy gravity. This camp is adapted from curriculum developed by the Edgerton Center at MIT.
