Aaron Hall Cain is a self-educated local photographer with a bold mission: he wants nothing less than Alaska's soul. And he's spending the next three days taking as many pictures and portraits of Alaskans as it takes to capture the essence of what Alaska is -- a place, a space, an idea, a new beginning, a lifelong home. A refuge, a retirement, a reward, an exile.
Cain will be will be photographing people as a part of creating an Alaskan art editorial. The resulting body of work will be published as Alaska Souls.
In order to for this all to work we need You. Everyone is encouraged to participate in getting their photos taken and every individual who participates in the event will be given their photograph as a thank you for their collaboration.
Alaska Souls was originally a two-year project entitled 1000Faces completed in 2010. Aaron started 1000Faces when he started his career as a photographer as a means to self educate. Alaska Souls is the direct rehashing of 1000faces, taking on the same challenges in a new light.
