A three-day event over the weekend of June 2-4, 2017, commemorated the bombing of Dutch Harbor during World War II.

Gov. Bill Walker designated June 3 as Dutch Harbor Remembrance Day in honor of the hardships experienced by Unangax people who were forced to leave their homes to live in internment camps and to commemorate the servicemen who died in the bombing.
