Photos: Eklutna Lake was perfect for ice skating on New Year’s Day

The ice on Eklutna Lake in Anchorage was ideal for skating on New Year's Day. The ice appeared to be 4 to 5 inches thick on the outlet end of the lake. The ice on the other end of the lake tends to be thinner, with open water. Many people took advantage of the skating conditions over the holiday weekend.
