More than 300 U.S. Army Alaska paratroopers with the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) arrived at Hangar 1 on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to be reunited with family and friends on Sunday, May 6, 2018.

About 2,200 paratroopers total will be returning over the coming weeks from a 9 month deployment to Afghanistan where U.S. troops are advising and assisting Afghan National Security Forces during Operation Freedom's Sentinel.
