A Ketchikan sportfishing crew saw more action than they expected Monday when a humpback whale surfaced beside their dock long enough to be caught on video.
In the video, recorded by Strike Zone Sportfishing captain Cy Williams and posted on YouTube, Williams tracks the whale as it swims beneath a dock then breaches the surface in Ketchikan's Knudson Cove on Monday.
"Our friend has been feeding right in front of Knudson Cove Marina for the last 3 days!" company staff wrote.
Humpbacks have paid Ketchikan's docks other visits captured on video, including a group of whales using bubbles to herd fish while feeding near the Clover Pass Resort last summer.
