Millennial Mixtape Night

6 p.m. Friday; Williwaw Social, 609 F St.

Farrago Five and Cold Fusion will perform a variety of millennial mixtape favorites at this no-cover show.

Black Violin

7 p.m. Friday; Atwood Concert Hall, 621 W. Sixth Ave.

Kevin Sylvester, violin, and Wilner Baptiste, viola, are the two classically trained string instrumentalists who make up Black Violin. Alaska Junior Theater presents this show, which merges string arrangements with modern beats. Tickets start at $56.50.

Serial Bowl

7 p.m. Friday and Saturday; Jerry Harper Studio, 3700 Alumni Drive

Audiences watch a series of one-act plays written by playwrights from around the world and vote on their favorites at the end of the night. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students, first responders and seniors.

Anchorage Wolverines vs. Fairbanks Ice Dogs

7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; Sullivan Arena, 1600 Gambell St.

The Anchorage Wolverines host rivals Fairbanks Ice Dogs in a weekend series as both teams try to gain ground in the Midwest Division of the NAHL. Tickets are available in both wet and dry seating areas.

Super Saturated Sugar Strings

7 p.m. Saturday; Williwaw Social, 609 F St.

Anchorage favorites take the stage at Williwaw with support from Selma Casagranda. Tickets start at $17.85.

The Second City

7:30 p.m. Saturday; Atwood Concert Hall, 621 W. Sixth Ave.

Based in Chicago, The Second City launched the careers of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Chris Farley, Keegan-Michael Key and more. This show blends improv comedy, songs, classic characters and some of the troupe’s best-known sketches. Tickets start at $39.

Scared Scriptless

8 p.m. Saturday; The Nave, 3502 Spenard Road

There should be plenty of laughs at this improv show, back at The Nave to kick off the new year. There will also be mocktails by Mixology Mobile Bar and snacks by Glory Crown Charcuterie. Tickets are $18.
