Troopers continue search for Texan missing on hike at Alyeska Resort

Alaska State Troopers say the search for a missing Texas man, last seen Tuesday near the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, is continuing.

Troopers' Helo-3 was helping to search the Winner Creek Trail area for 46-year-old Bradford Broach, according to a dispatch. Ground searchers included Alyeska employees, the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group and Alaska Search and Rescue Dogs.

Broach, of Allen, Texas, had been expected home after a flight from Fairbanks that he didn't board Thursday. His car was found at Alyeska, where he had stayed and was last seen heading for the trail.

Alaska State Troopers have requested assistance in their search for a Texas man last seen Tuesday night, when he was heading out for a hike near Alyeska Resort in Girdwood.

Troopers got a call from the wife of the missing man, Bradford Broach, 46, of Allen, Texas, on Wednesday, according to a dispatch posted online.

Amy Broach told troopers she had not heard from her husband for two days, troopers said.

Bradford Broach was due to return home the day she called, but he missed his flight at the Fairbanks International Airport, troopers said.

Troopers started investigating and determined Bradford Broach had been staying at Alyeska, and they located his belongings and car there.

He reportedly went out for a hike on Winner Creek Trailhead between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to troopers.

AST, who is currently searching the trail, has requested assistance from Alaska Search and Rescue Dogs and the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group.
