Update, 8:40 a.m. Friday: Alaska State Troopers identified 37-year-old Renee Nobel of Hawaii as the driver who died Thursday in a collision on the Parks Highway.

Original story:

A driver died Thursday morning in a head-on collision with a motor home on the Parks Highway north of Willow, Alaska State Troopers said.

The collision occurred after a Ford SUV crossed into oncoming traffic around 9:05 a.m. near Mile 94, according to troopers. The driver of the SUV died on scene and troopers said no one else was in the vehicle. The driver of the motor home was brought to a hospital with minor injuries, troopers said. One passenger in the motor home was uninjured, said troopers spokesman Austin McDaniel.

Neither driver was immediately identified.

The Parks Highway closed for about three hours as troopers investigated and cleared vehicles from the road.
