Anchorage police release suspect, vehicle information in fatal hit-and-run

Anchorage police released new information Wednesday about a fatal hit-and-run on the Glenn Highway in hopes of tracking down three suspects.

Joshua Goodlataw, 22, was killed on the highway. A witness called police around 3:30 a.m. Saturday and reported someone had been walking in the roadway and "was struck by a dark colored pick-up truck that was traveling inbound and that the truck had left the scene."

The Anchorage Police Department and Goodlataw's family have been urging those involved, or anyone who has knowledge of the incident, to come forward.

Now, police report they've developed suspect information through evidence left at the scene and eye-witness accounts.

APD spokesperson Renee Oistad included the following descriptions in a Wednesday release:

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2003 to 2004 dark blue Chevrolet Silverado or Avalanche. The truck has blue lighting on the inside. The suspect vehicle may include damage to its passenger side headlight, plastic trim near the hood and windshield.

The truck had three people inside at the time of the hit-and-run, Oistad said.

Behind the wheel was a white man of unknown age, about 5-feet-4-inches tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white baseball cap, gray jacket and beige sweatpants.

The passengers included a white woman in her 20s, about 5-feet-5-iches tall with a thin build and long strawberry blonde hair. She was wearing gray or white sweatpants and an oversized shirt.

A second passenger is described as an Asian man in his 20s, about 5-feet-5-inches tall, heavyset. He was wearing a black shirt and gray pants.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or suspects is asked to call police at 907-786-8900, or to submit an anonymous tip through Anchorage Crime Stoppers.
