Anchorage mayoral runoff election: Q&As with Dave Bronson and Suzanne LaFrance

Here’s what the candidates had to say about their priorities and many of the issues Anchorage voters said they care about most.

The Anchorage Daily News collaborated with Alaska Public Media on an updated candidate comparison guide for the mayoral runoff in the 2024 municipal election.

This coverage of the Anchorage municipal election is being provided free as a public service. But we depend on reader support to produce independent reporting Alaskans can trust. Join thousands of others and subscribe now.

The questions were developed with input from Anchorage voters. This guide allows voters to compare the mayoral runoff candidates — former Anchorage Assembly chair Suzanne LaFrance and incumbent Mayor Dave Bronson — side-by-side on specific questions and issues. We edited candidates’ responses lightly for things like punctuation and spelling, but otherwise let their answers stand.
