INCIDENTS

Theft - On March 4 at 1:46 p.m., troopers responded to a theft from a vehicle at a residence on Quiet Circle in Wasilla. A purse was stolen with an estimated $30 in cash, important papers, and medication was stolen from a car. The theft occurred between 1:35 p.m. and 1:46 p.m. on March 4. Burglary, theft, criminal mischief - On March 4 at 1:35 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on Birch View Drive in Wasilla. An estimated $7,000 in property was stolen between 6:30 a.m. and 1:35 p.m. Damage to the residence due to forced entry is estimated at approximately $100. Burglary, theft - On March 6 at 5 a.m., troopers responded to Lucille Street in Wasilla. A large amount of cash and a pistol was removed from a safe. Anyone with information can call Alaska State Troopers at 373-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

Wreck, injury - On March 6 at 11:47 a.m., troopers responded to the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Schelin Spur for a two vehicle rear-end collision. Jeffrey Lamb, 52, of Wasilla was eastbound on the highway driving a 2007 school bus and slowing down for a stop light when the bus was rear-ended by a 1988 Chevrolet pickup driven by Gerhard Groeschel, 81, of Wasilla. There were four passengers on the bus at the time, and one student complained of back pain but was treated and released on scene by EMS. Both drivers reported wearing seat belts. Groeschel was issued a citation for failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision. His vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene, and the bus received about $2,000 damage.

Vehicle theft - On March 9 at 11:02 a.m., troopers received a report of a vehicle theft from a residence on E. Alder Drive in Wasilla. Sometime between the evening of March 5 and the morning of March 9, a gray 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was taken from the victim's driveway. Theft - On March 4, Palmer police investigated the theft of several bottles of vodka from the Oaken Keg liquor store.

Burglary - On March 5, Barbara U. Hooks, 32, of Palmer, reported her residence on West Eagle Street had been burglarized and a number of items stolen.
