$50,000 lottery has two unknown winners

Two unknown winners hit the $50,000 jackpot at a lottery drawing at Tudor Road Bingo on Tuesday evening. The winning tickets are 019280 and 001366.

Neither winner was on hand at the drawing at Tudor Road Bingo, which operated the lottery to benefit the Fur Rendezvous Festival under the name Lottery Alaska.

Alaska law requires the charity organization to get at least 10 percent after the prize payout. Tudor Road Bingo owner Jack Powers said his venture is exceeding that. He presented Rondy board president Ernie Hall a check for $40,982 at the drawing.

Powers said this drawing was only the first and that tickets for the next event, which will deliver a total of $150,000 in prizes in a July drawing, are already on sale for $5 apiece.

The winners of this drawing have 45 days to claim the prize, Powers said. They can call 56-LOTTO or stop in at Tudor Road Bingo.
