Course bests some

Courses designed by Bill Spencer and Tom Livingston were among the winners at a Thursday night orienteering meet at Fort Richardson's Fossil Creek area, where 11 out 52 competitors failed to find their way to the finish line. Five of the non-finishers competed in the most difficult race, held on the 7.8-kilometer, 15-control red course. Ian Moore held off Kimball Forrest to win that race by two minutes in a time of 1 hour, 24 minutes, 4 seconds.
