Wine of the week: 2011 MooBuzz pinot noir

Irreverent wine-making, going against the grain and tossing away tradition -- that's the way it has to be with a wine called MooBuzz. Really, you have to smile. The 2011 MooBuzz pinot noir is a tasty little wine put together by TOG (The Other Guys). This is a blend with 86 percent pinot, 10 percent sangiovese, three percent tempranillo and one percent syrah. It's surprisingly firm and pleasantly tannic. The mouth is supple, with round cherry fruit and solid length, making it an excellent food pusher. A delightful beverage, it's just perfect for crusty bread and cheese. Costs about $14.
