Letter: Thanksgiving's not a day to shop

I agree with "Keep Thanksgiving for thanks" that was in Tuesday's (Nov. 20) letters. People can shop on Friday. They don't need to shop on Thanksgiving. The holidays should be a time to spend with family, friends or even alone if you choose (and not at the stores).

Retailers, does it really matter if you make your money on Thursday rather than Friday? Give the retail workers the day off. I am also planning to boycott these stores. I know we can be a greedy, "I want it now and first" nation, but send a message to big business. Boycott!
