Firefighters battling East Anchorage trailer fire

Anchorage firefighters are battling a trailer fire in East Anchorage, a department spokesman says.

The flames were reported at 3:45 p.m. at 5901 East Sixth Ave., said Al Tamagni. The first firefighters arrived about five minutes later.

Red Cross has been asked to help a family of three displaced by the blaze, he said.

No injuries have been reported and firefighters received no reports that anyone was in the trailer as 13 fire department units began to arrive at the mobile home park, he said. The fire does not appear to be a threat to neighboring trailers, Tamagni said.
