Service 67, Dimond 47

An Adam Klie double-double and a big game from Marques Robinson powered a 67-47 win for the Service boys basketball team Tuesday in a Cook Inlet Conference game against visiting Dimond.

Klie finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Robinson made all eight of his free throws on his way to a game-high 18 points. The Cougars, who also got 14 points from Amu Aukusitino and 11 from Ihro Raguindin, led 26-17 at halftime and put the game away with a big fourth quarter.

Stanson Afoa led Dimond with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Payton Lauwers hit for 13 points.

East 64, Eagle River 46

The East boys rode a hot first quarter from Xavier Johnson to a CIC victory Tuesday, knocking off Eagle River 64-46 in a basketball game at East High.

Johnson drained five 3-pointers and scored 16 of his game-high 18 points in the first quarter, helping the Thunderbirds build a 25-5 lead heading into the second. Austin Huss chipped in 10 for East.

Shaquan Rhoades and Eric Roberts each put up 13 points for Eagle River.

Bartlett 55, Chugiak 38

Bartlett's Iziah Sherman-Newsome scored 18 points Tuesday and the Golden Bears earned a 55-38 CIC win over host Chugiak.

Skyler Fullmer led the Mustangs with 16 points.

West 63, South 46

I.K. Oghide's 13 points and 13 rebounds helped West race to a 63-46 CIC boys basketball victory over host South on Tuesday.

West's Deandre Wilson led all scorers with 15 points and Dazhon Wyche hit for 10.

Wade Ellis paced South with 14 points.

Bartlett 45, Chugiak 33

A double-double from Sarah Johnson and a game-high 16 points from Nadine Fraker propelled the Bartlett girls to a 45-33 win over Chugiak, spoiling Senior Night for the host Mustangs in a Cook Inlet Conference basketball game.

Johnson racked 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Tiemchieng Panoam secured 14 boards to go with eight points.

Andre Samaniego scored 12 for the Mustangs, who trailed by just a point at halftime, but were outscored 12-3 in the third quarter.

East 66, Eagle River 32

East's Dajah Motuga scored 21 points on 8 of 12 shooting Tuesday, leading the Thunderbirds to a 66-32 CIC girls basketball win over visiting Eagle River.

Taria Page boosted the Thunderbirds with 19 points and Briele Johnson ruled the glass with 12 rebounds for East.

Shekinak Young led Eagle River with 11 points.

South 56, West 54

Leading by a narrow margin throughout most of the fourth quarter, the South girls basketball team eked out a 56-54 CIC win over visiting West on Tuesday.

Taylor Murray turned in 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Wolverines, Sierra Mains deposited 13 points and Grace Williams kicked in nine.

Alistie Aguilar's 14 points led West, with Marshalla Eady adding 11 and Chanel Bookert tossing in eight.

Dimond 65, Service 12

Four players reached double-digit point totals for Dimond on Tuesday and the Lynx rolled to a 65-12 CIC girls basketball win over host Service.

Anastasia Tosi led the Lynx with 16 points, Kaylynn Haywood knocked in 13 and Aminata Cole and Sierra Afoa each chipped in 10. Cole added 10 rebounds to record a double-double, and Kyla Pearce led Service with four points.

In a Monday endowment game with Anchorage Christian, the Dimond girls barely escaped with a 55-53 win at Dimond High.

Cole and Afoa both scored 11 points and notched double doubles, with Cole hauling in a monstrous 22 rebounds and Afoa securing 10. Tara Thompson led Dimond scorers with 13 points in a back-and-forth battle. The Lynx held a five-point advantage after one quarter, but trailed 25-24 at halftime. The Lynx outscored the Lions 17-9 in the third quarter and hung on against a hard-charging ACS.

Dallas Dickerson racked a double-double for ACS, pumping in a game-high 19 points and pulling in 10 rebounds. Sarah Geagel accumulated 18 points, six rebounds and three steals for the Lions.
