Alaska Family Wellness Center hires physician's assistant

Physician's Assistant Clara Scott has joined the medical practice at Alaska Family Wellness Center.

Scott, who holds a Masters Degree in Health Science and graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at Duke University in 2001 with honors, is a certified Physician's Assistant. She is originally from Olympia, Washington and began her medical career as a paramedic.

"With over 12 years experience in medicine, primarily specializing in pediatric medicine as well as women and men's health, wellness, and alternative medicine leading to a healthier lifestyle, we are very pleased to welcome Clara to our medical team," said AFWC managing partner Dr. Michael Fischer, M.D.

Alaska Family Wellness Center is a full-service integrative medical clinic. AFWC offers a Family Practice scope of services including health and cancer screenings, bioidentical hormone therapy, pediatric acute illness and wellness care, blood pressure/heart disease/cholesterol management, prolotherapy, dermatological, allergy and fibromyalgia assessments and treatment, depression and mental health counseling, and pain management with alternative medicine applications.

"I am very excited to join AFWC's remarkable team and help Alaskans improve their health," said Scott. "I really enjoy the family practice scope of medicine, with a particular affinity to pediatric medicine, caring for and treating newborns and children. I also have a special connection with my adolescent patients, guiding them to healthier "holistic" lifestyle choices through self-help solutions," added Scott.
