Forbes honors First National Bank Alaska

Bank named one of nation's most trustworthy companies for second year in a row

In a testament to First National Bank Alaska's near-century of dependability for its customers and communities around the state, the bank's been named one of America's Top 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in an annual survey commissioned by Forbes.

First National made the list for the second consecutive year and is the only Alaska business among the top 100.

"This is an incredible honor and we're extremely appreciative," said First National Vice Chair Betsy Lawer. "We've always strived to be a bank all Alaskans can count on and this national recognition reinforces that we're doing the right thing, right here in the 49thstate."

In order to identify America's Top 100 companies, Forbes used the GMI Ratings (GMI) system.

The GMI ratings provided Forbes with quantitative and qualitative analysis, which looks beyond raw data of companies' income statements and balance sheets. The GMI found that the Top 100 Most Trustworthy Companies demonstrated transparent and conservative accounting practices, solid corporate, governance and management.
