TRACK AND FIELD

Snow ends track early

Grace Christian's Grant George claimed victories in the shot put and discus at the Anchorage Invitational track and field meet, which ended a day early because of Saturday morning's snow.

Athletes got in a full day of competition Friday at Bartlett High, but Saturday's schedule was wiped out by rain and snow.

In the meet's only track finals, Audrey Michaelson of Colony and John Farr of East ran to wins in the 3,200 meters Friday. All of Friday's other running events were preliminaries, with finals scheduled for Saturday.
