Wine of the week: 2012 Padrillos Malbec

The Catenas are one of the best wine-making families in the world. Ernesto is the fourth generation. True to his roots, he produces wines that are complex and exciting. Mendoza, Argentina, is home, and Ernesto's vineyard is at Vista Flores in the Unco Valley. It is organic and produces absolutely heavenly fruit, which you will taste in the 2012 Padrillos Malbec. Oh yeah, there is nothing wrong here. The price perhaps is a bit low, but blue and black fruits, licorice and mouth-coating velvety richness will make you and your wallet smile together. Costs about $12.
