A sacrifice fly from Christin Stewart in the fifth inning and an RBI single from Brenden Farney in the seventh inning was all the offense the Mat-Su Miners needed in a 2-0 win over the visiting Bucs on Tuesday.

Miners starter Philip Orr struck out four in six innings for a win at Hermon Brothers Field. Relievers Beau Hilton and Drew Smith completed the shutout, Hilton pitching the seventh and eighth and Smith closing in the ninth.

Taylor Ward recorded the Bucs' only hit.

Oilers 3, Chinooks 2

Adam Sonabend's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning capped a comeback win for the Oilers, who edged Chugiak 3-2 at Seymour Memorial Park on Tuesday.

Sonabend's walk-off hit brought Taylor Tempel to the plate for the winning run. The Oilers led 1-0 for much of the game, thanks to a third-inning RBI-single from Jake Alvarez and five innings of solid pitching from starter Logan McAnallen. The Chinooks gained a 2-1 advantage, however, when Daniel Salters smashed a two-run homer off Oilers' reliever Michael Coates in the top of the eighth.

The Oilers evened the score when Mike Wieland drew a one-out, bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth to set up Sonabend's winning hit.
