Letter: F-16 shift good for Anchorage

I find it strange that the Mayor of Anchorage objects to a relocation of F-16 fighter jets to Anchorage because it would increase the demand for housing. If base personnel were moved out of Anchorage would he cheer because it would relieve a tight housing market?

Don't other cities fight tooth and nail to prevent base closures? We welcome more tourists to the city even though they need to be housed as well. A lot of mayors would love to have this "problem."
