Kudos to the Anchorage Fire Department for responding so quickly and professionally to the house fire next door to us on Main Tree Drive Saturday night. And many thanks to two of our neighbors, Galen and Karen, for helping us hose down our cedar shake roof. Although the house next door sadly was destroyed, it could have been a lot worse for the neighborhood.
