Alaska State Troopers say they arrested two Ambler residents Friday after finding homebrew and a marijuana grow operation inside a home in the Northwest Alaska village.
A member of Kotzebue's Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team and a trooper went to Ambler after hearing reports of homebrew in the community, which bans the sale and importation of alcohol, troopers said.
"The investigation led to (the trooper) being able to get a search warrant for that particular house," said AST spokeswoman Beth Ipsen.
The trooper and investigator found "at least a gallon" of homebrew and a small marijuana grow, Ipsen said Sunday.
Charles Penn, 42, and Denise Williams, 29, both of Ambler, were arrested for manufacturing alcohol in a local option area.
They were taken to Kotzebue's jail.
