Suspect in trail head vehicle break-ins arrested

Troopers say they've caught a man suspected in a string of trail head vehicle break-ins in Willow in September.

Authorities say James E. Morgan, 38, of Wasilla, broke into cars parked at the Nancy Lake State Recreation Area at least three times in September and stole credit cards, which he used at Mat-Su area businesses.

On Oct. 6 park rangers and Alaska State Troopers tailed Morgan as he drove into the Nancy Lake State Recreation Area, according to a trooper report dispatch online.

He was arrested after he was seen "looking into parked vehicles at the Red Shirt Lake Trail Head," according to the dispatch.

Morgan is being charged with theft and fraudulently using a credit card, among other charges.
