Girls high school basketball: West and South each pick up road wins

GIRLS PREP BASKETBALL

West 64, Ketchikan 38

Theyoung Puoy pumped in 15 points Friday and hauled in five rebounds to lead the West girls basketball team to a 64-38 nonconference road win over Ketchikan.

West's Marshala Eady nearly hit a double-double with nine points, 10 rebounds and six steals. Chanel Bookert chipped in 14 points.

Alexis Biggerstaff and Eliah Anderson each scored 12 for Ketchikan.

South 63, Grace 32

Three players scored in double figures for South, as the Wolverines steamrolled Grace 63-32 on Friday in an endowment basketball game at Grace.

Sadie Hodgeson led the charge for the Wolverines with 19 points, Sabrina Ungaro scored 10 of her 18 in the third quarter, and Zulai Cole pitched in 11.

Mikayla Shamburger led Grace with 13 points, all of which came in the second half. Rachel Dunagan deposited five points.
