I believe the entire $7.7 million should be committed and used to build the recreational center next to the Dempsey Anderson ice arena in Turnagain.
Hockey and ice skating are obviously not the only sports here in Anchorage that need a year-round facility. Many of us like to also play basketball, volleyball and tennis. Tennis courts can also be adapted to be used to play badminton and pickleball, which is currently the fastest growing senior sport in America. What's not to like about creating more physical activity opportunities for more Anchorage residents?
