I grew up in upstate New York and spent many wonderful hours viewing and hunting in and around the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge located in the Finger Lakes region of the state. It is a major stopping point for many tens of thousands of migratory waterfowl on their annual migration south from Canada and the northern states and back. It is an amazing sight to see hundreds of Canada geese and other birds lifting off to head south for the winter and north for the summer.
And oh, by the way, did I mention that the New York State Thruway, a major eight-lane highway, runs directly through the refuge and carries much of the east-west traffic through New York State? Doesn't seem to bother the birds one bit.
A one-lane gravel road through the wildlife habitat of Izembek will have absolutely no impact on the birds in the area. What politically correct bunk!
Start looking out for the citizens of the state of Alaska for a change, and stop waffling to the vocal minority.
