Prep hockey: West, Dimond, Eagle River win

Ryder Schwamm's three-point game helped West skate past Service 5-2 in a Cook Inlet Conference hockey game at Ben Boeke Arena on Saturday.

Schwamm assisted on two goals and scored one. Ilya Turchaninov delivered two goals and Garen Teders contributed a goal and an assist for the Eagles.

West led 2-0 after two goals in a 28-second span early in the second period. The Eagles led 2-1 after the period and scored twice in a 51-second span early in the third period to grab command.

Lachlan Cockrell and Jon Stephens scored for Service.

Dimond 8, Kenai 4

Aidan Teiborg scorched the nets for five goals Saturday, including four in a row in the third period that carried Dimond past Kenai 8-4 in a nonconference hockey game at the Soldotna Sports Center.

Dimond led 3-2 after two periods and cemented the victory with a 5-2 third period. Teiborg scored Dimond's first four goals in the period and assisted on the fifth.

Brandon Sakamoto added two goals for the Lynx. Jake Eubank scored a hat trick to led Kenai.

Eagle River 6, Homer 0

A hat trick from Schuyler Davis put the Eagle River boys hockey team on the road to a 6-0 shutout over Homer on Saturday in a nonconference game at the McDonald Center.

Davis scored the game's first three goals, hitting for two in the fist period and adding another in the opening minute of the second period. Wyatt Beebe, Blake Halfpenny and Kyle Johnson each tacked on goals, and goalie Jeffrey Hartmann made 19 saves to earn a shutout.

Homer goalie Markian Polushkin stopped 23 shots.
