A 23-year-old Anchorage man has been arrested and accused of manslaughter in connection with the death of a Mountain Village man, authorities said.
Anthony J. Beans was arrested Friday in Mountain Village. He was being transported to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel and will be arraigned in Bethel court, troopers said.
Bean's arrest comes two days after Clifford Schanrock, 56, was reported dead in Mountain Village. Crime scene technicians, after being initially delayed by bad weather, traveled to the community Thursday to investigate.
No further details about the arrest were available. A message with the Bethel district attorney June Stein was not immediately returned.
