Seventh-grader Abigail FitzGibbon of Sitka won the 2014 Alaska State Spelling Bee Friday night.
The bee was held at the Performing Arts Center's Discovery Theatre in downtown Anchorage.
The Blatchley Middle School student will now represent Alaska at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in May.
