Wake-up call: 3.7 quake jolts Anchorage Sunday morning

A mild earthquake shook Anchorage and the Kenai Peninsula on Sunday morning. The epicenter was 40 miles beneath Cook Inlet with a preliminary magnitude of 3.7, according to the USGS and the Alaska Earthquake Information Center.

It occurred at 8:11 a.m., and was centered 30 miles southwest of Anchorage.

There were no reports of damage, although people throughout the area reported feeling it.
