Police name woman killed in Glenn Highway rollover

The Anchorage Police Department has identified the victim killed in a single vehicle rollover on the Glenn Highway Wednesday morning.

The accident left 37-year-old Cherilyn Ann Buhler dead, one vehicle occupant in critical condition, and two others with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a press release sent out by APD spokesperson Dani Myren on Thursday morning. The last address police have for Buhler is in Wasilla, Myren said.

The black pickup truck was occupied by four people when the accident occurred north of Eklutna, near the Elkutna Flats area. Police were notified about the incident just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and temporarily shut down the Glenn Highway to make room for a medavac helicopter to land and take the critically injured to the hospital, Myren said Wednesday.

The two occupants with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to a hospital via ambulance. By roughly 1:30 p.m., only one northbound lane remained closed, as emergency responders worked to remove the pick-up truck from the scene. The highway fully reopened shortly after 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation Thursday.
