Dog-Tober-Fest fundraiser set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4-5

Dogblog note: This looks like a cool doggie event this weekend, Saturday and Sunday Oct. 4 and 5, for anyone who's been thinking about checking out the indoor canine swimming facility Alaska K9 Aquatics. In a fundraiser for dog charities listed below, there will be a demonstration in teaching tricks with clicker training along with performances from Ted the Diving Dog and Cathy Hviid and Nyx the Dock Diving dog and much more, including a chance to sign up for swims for your dog. Dog-Tober-Fest at Alaska K9 Aquatics Oct. 4-5

Alaska K9 Aquatics is hosting Dog-Tober-Fest at their facility this Saturday & Sunday Oct. 4th-5th 9 a.m.-6 p.m. For every scheduled swim on Saturday they are donating $15 to Alaska Rural Veterinary Outreach (providing spay, neuter & more to rural communities). For every scheduled swim on Sunday they are donating $15. to Straw for Dogs, or Mojo's Hope (Anchorage based all volunteer nonprofits servicing dogs in need in our community).

Special events include:

Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 to 11 a.m.:Ted the Diving Dog

Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-noon: Cathy Hviid with Nyx demoing Dock Diving events: extreme vertical, distance, and speed retrieve.

Saturday, 12-3 p.m.: Bring your dog to learn clicker tricks with Allie Moss & Martina Richardson (no charge).

Sunday. 11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Meet Daisy with Drool Central who makes organic and fresh dog treats, and Shannon with Paw-Prints, Howls and Purrs! Pet Photography who is taking pictures of dog swimmers from 1-3 p.m/ with all proceeds going to Mojo's Hope!

Free rootbeer garden and raffle both days. NO charge for general admittance for events, dog swimmer's pricing as listed under Services & Rates page on website (www.alaskak9aquatics.com).

Please call 677-7946 ahead of time to schedule your dog's swimming appointment to support this fundraiser! Dog visitors should not be on pool deck during demos from 10:30-12 noon, but are welcome at all other times. All dogs entering the facility should be current on shots.
